I am not much of a warmonger … We’d all live in peace if I had my way, however, I am sure this was a marvelous war toy in its day. It is a nice drawing, despite my opinion of war.
Apparently this particular tank, although a pioneer, could be deemed (so I am told) more a hinderance than a help, as its top speed was something like 4 mph; its operators were slowly suffocated by the fumes that came from the engine they were virtually cuddled up next to; and it broke down about every 10 meters. Apart from these small exaggerations, it was a useful tool. And thank you for your comment regarding my drawing ๐
The first suicide bomber? ๐ . I shouldn’t jest about war, but that was my first thought when you enlightened me on the tank’s shortcomings. I think I’ve become calloused and sarcastic on the subject. I really do like your drawing though. Pictures speak 1000 words and give us insight into history, be it good, or bad.
I used design these in 3d for fun…tanks, planes…and it is not my fetish even…but this tank is nicely rendered…it should emit disco lights when movingโฆ:)
Haha, yes! I am loving the idea of a ‘party tank’. Perhaps instead of shooting bullets it could shoot out bubbles; and there’s even room for a DJ to sit on top. Fabulous. ๐
Hi Rachel, may we use your sketch in a school project about WW1? It would be included in a DVD and web site to help tell a story of trench warfare. We can credit you if you want with your full name. Can’t pay fees though, sorry!
You may use the picture, yes. Please could you credit me with my full name: Rachael Herman. And if possible include a link to my blog https://rachaelherman.wordpress.com/
Thanks Rachael. We will give you a credit and link and I will send you a link to the web site when it is live. It will be ready sometime in May or June.
